Hunter guide 1-99

Hunter is a members-only skill that allows players to catch animals all over RuneScape. Hunter was released on 21 November 2006. Although Hunter is a non-combat skill, players can still be damaged while hunting.

This is (in my opinion) the best way to get 99 hunter !


LVL 1 - 19
What to catch : Crimson swifts
Catches needed : 117
Located at Feldip hills (Fastest way is by teleporting castle wars and run south east )
Items needed : 1 Bird snare, i recommand to bring more whit you incase you lose one.

LVL 19 - 29
What to catch : Tropical wagtail
Catches needed : 85
Located at Feldip hills (Fastest way is by teleporting castle wars and run south east )
Items needed : 2 Bird snare, ( at level 20 you can set up 2 bird traps at a time !)
i recommand to bring more whit you incase you lose one.

LVL 29 to 43
What to catch : Swamp lizards
Catches needed : 253
Located at : mort myre swamp
items needed : 4 small nets, 4 ropes, (optional is taking a tinderbox and torch cause at level 39 you will be able to smoke traps. )

i really recommand to bank the lizards as you make 500k an hour whit this method.
The bank is really close to the spot.

LVL 43 to 57
What to catch : Spotted kebbits
Catches needed: 1471
Located at : Piscotaris Falconry
items needed : 500gp

LVL 57-60
What to catch : Dark kebbits
Catches needed : 534
Located at : Piscotaris Falconry
items needed : 500gp

LVL 60-80
What to catch : Red Salamanders
Catches needed : 6296
Location : outside the ZMI Altar
items needed : 4 small nets, 4 ropes
Fastest way is teleporting castle wars and running north, again i recommand banking the salamanders.
it is 70k xp an hour, so it IS better then red chins.
i really recommand catching chins whit 80 hunter, more xp/H more cash/H.

LVL 80-99 !
what to catch Red chinchompas
Location : Feldip hills
What to bring : Box traps ( bow and arrows can maximize your xp/h by shooting the running chins )
Go to a world whit 1000+ people so the chins will spawn faster.

Doing chins will make you atleast 25m !
Depends on the red chins price.
XP an hour rate : 80-100k an hour, based on how focused you are.

i really dont recommend doing chins to 99.

i think grenwalls are better they are like 1m gp/hr and better xp,

i will add grenwalls to my guide later=)
